Questions to "Introduction: 'Worship at the Altar of Convergence'''

    1.  Convergence happens in the communication and media fields because of the power of the media producers and consumers interactions, which usually happens because of the people who react to media and what they have to say about the media industries. Consumers will always have feedback to say about what the media produces. The factors that lead to convergence are the brains of the consumers and their social interactions with other people. Their conversation makes buzz that helps the media industry get feedback on media.

   2.  Three different kinds of digital convergence are central mobiles, television and the Internet.

   3.   The relationship between the media with audiences, producers and content are all impacted by digital convergence because there is always change going on because of new technologies. These new technologies are changing the culture from not being able to have just one object have one purpose. All new phones and tv’s have multiple uses now and that impacts the way people consume the media. When people take media into their own hands they can make anything and do anything they want. It also impacts peoples social lives now because people have relationships through phones, emails and texts. Digital convergence is changing the consumer’s views on everything and it impacts their lives everyday.

    4. Old media never dies it just gets shifted and upgraded by every new technology that gets made. The tools to access the media are what change not the actual media itself.

    5.   The convergence from both the top-down corporate level and bottom-up grassroots level change the consumer’s concept of things. If a TV show or character in a movie changes the consumers view on that company changes also.  Once media realizes consumers view on their production they change it. Media now produces shows that they know consumers will be attracted to and will participate in. They want to build stronger connections with consumers and relations with the brands, companies, shows and characters in those shows.

   6.    Digital convergence in media for communication and journalism professionals means a lot of hard work and focusing on what the consumers want and their view on the media. They need to be able to communicate with consumers and understand what will attract them. Convergence means consist change, not one thing will be able to solve everything so they need to focus on the new media as well.
