Youtube as Participatory Culture

1. Youtube is a social media and focuses on networking and connections. The interaction online is key for Youtube video production community because people can comment on videos and can make people rethink their video if it offends people or isn't the best video. It makes it a community because  people share common interests of videos or subjects they all like and then they start to form a group and community where they can . Youtube belongs to Google and they make it easy for people to find each other who have similar interests and they get together by searching for it.

2. The use of Youtube in the youth is mostly just by searching funny videos and instructional videos. They like to share content with each other and that is what Youtube is for. Youtube makes sharing extremely easy on their home page and this is what the youth is attracted to.

3. Youtube uses a search bar and allows comments and feedback as techniques to create a online community. Youtube also raises the status to some well-known contributors by giving them privileges  of leadership roles like longer videos and ad revenue.

4. The next step for Youtube development could be having many people be able to access one account from anywhere in the world and be able to edit and share videos together as a group.
